Spencerport & Gates-Chili 10/01/08

The Pittsford S'Women continued their dominance this week with victories over Spencerport and Gates Chili.  The Varsity team beat Spencerport 96-78, but swam exhibition for the last 3 events.  In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of Meghan Green, Danielle Phillips, Jennifer Conklin and Shannon Dempsey finished 1st, while teammates Maddie Ashworth, Rachel House, Erica Bryson and Emily DiPaulo finished 2nd.  In the 200 yard free, Sarah Dempsey finished 1st, Shannon Dempsey was 2nd and Danielle Proper 3rd.  Jennifer Proper won the 200 yard IM with teammates Mallory Ward 3rd and Emily DiPaulo 4th.  The next event was the 50 yard free, where Green was the winner, with R. House 3rd and Conklin 4th. 
Carrie DeMoulin was 2nd in the diving.  Pittsford swept the 100 yard fly with Alex Trobe, J. Proper and Phillips going 1-2-3.  Pittsford also swept the 100 yard free with Emma Miller, Sarah Dempsey and D. Proper going 1-2-3.  In the 500 yard free, Ashworth, Phillips and DiPaulo went 2-3-4.  The final event swam before going into exhibition was the 200 yard free relay, where the team of Miller, Sarah Dempsey, Trobe and Katie Dobler were victorious with Bryson, Conklin, Green and House finishing in 2nd.
The JV S'Women also won big against Spencerport.  Pittsford went 1-2 in the 200 yard medley relay with the team of Jenny Riley, Amanda House, Kala Wilkins and Elizabeth Maier coming in 1st with teammates Kaelan Fennell, Mackenzie Ward, Sydney Ryan and Olivia Holodnik coming in 2nd.  In the 200 yard free, Katie Hart, A. House and Jenna Mattina went 1-2-3.  Pittsford also went 1-2-3 in the 200 yard IM with Riley winning followed by Maier and Mackenzie Ward.  Erin Connolly won the 50 yard free with Lainy Hummel 2nd and Briana Viera 4th.
Kelsey Telek finished 2nd in the diving and Wilkins, Ryan and Emily Himes went 1-2-3 in the 100 yard fly.  Holodnik and Izzy Joynt went 1-2 in the 100 yard free and Riley, Lydia Hunt and Audrey Hunt went 1-2-3 in the 500 yard free.  Pittsford went 1-2 in the 200 free relay with Maier, Riley, Hart and Wilkins finishing 1st and  Anna Grazulis, Himes, Joynt and Hummel finishing 2nd.  The remainder of the meet was swam as exhibition.
Last Thursday, the S'Women traveled to the new pool complex at Gates-Chili where they set 4 pool records and won 106-61.  The 1st pool record set was in the 200 yard medley relay by Green, Sarah Dempsey, Phillips and DiPaulo, with teammates Ashworth, Mallory Ward, Bryson and Shannon Dempsey coming in 2nd.   In the 200 yard free, Trobe set a pool record, with Green and D. Proper coming in 2nd and 3rd.  Shannon Dempsey, Ashworth and J. Proper went 1-2-3 in the 200 IM.  Sarah Dempsey won the 50 free and set another pool record, with R. House and Phillips finishing 2nd and 3rd.
Carrie DeMoulin had a great meet, with a personal best score and finished a close 2nd in diving.  Pittsford also swept the next 3 events with R. House, Ashworth and D. Proper going 1-2-3 in the 100 yard fly, Trobe, Shannon Dempsey and Phillips going 1-2-3 in the 100 yard free and Green, Dobler and Mallory Ward going 1-2-3 in the 500 yard free, where Green set another pool record.  In the 200 yard free relay, Pittsford went 1-2 with Dobler, Bryson, Sarah Dempsey and Phillips beating out teammates Trobe, DiPaulo, Shannon Dempsey and R. House.  The rest of the meet was swum as exhibition.
The JV team won 103-44.  In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of Fennell, House, Wilkins, and Hart finished 1st with teammates Connolly, Ryan, Mackenzie Ward and A. Hunt finishing 2nd.  Pittsford went 1-2-3 in the next 3 events with Riley, Holodnik and L. Hunt sweeping the 200 yard free, Wilkins, Maier and Fennell sweeping the 200 yard IM and Hart, Connolly and Olivia Gallagher sweeping the 50 yard free.
Kelsey Telek finished 2nd in diving.  In the 100 yard fly, Holodnik was victorious with Hummell finishing 2nd.  Pittsford again swept the 100 yard free with Wilkins, Hart and A. House going 1-2-3,  In the 500 yard free, Pittsford also went 1-2-3 with Connolly briefly setting a pool record, before Green beat it in the Varsity 500 yard free, Grazulis and L. Hunt.  The final event before going into exhibition was the 200 yard free relay.  The team of Riley, A. House, Holodnik and Hart beat out teammates A. Hunt, Joynt, L. Hunt and Hummell to go 1-2.
The Pittsford S'Women have their final home meet on Thursday, October 2nd where they will be recognizing their 6 seniors.  Then on Saturday, October 4th, they will travel to Canandaigua to compete in the Empire Invitational against many of the top teams in the state.
