The Pittsford Junior Varsity S’Women team concluded their season at the Monroe County Coaches’ Invitational on Saturday, November 1st at the Webster Aquatic Center. The meet brings together several schools from across Monroe County and provides an opportunity for competition between schools and swimmers that might not occur in the regular season dual meets. The Pittsford S’Women went undefeated this season in dual meet competitions, and they displayed the same energy, enthusiasm and success in the MCCI meet.
The relay teams for Pittsford left everyone in their wake on Saturday. Both 200-yard medley relay teams took first place. The team of Jenny Riley, Mackenzie Ward, Sydney Ryan and Katie Hart finished with a time of 2:06.19 and the team of Kaelan Fennell, Andrea Meyer, Emily Himes and Olivia Holodnik beat their seed time by seven seconds and touched with a final time of 2:11.55. Jenny Riley, Erin Connolly and Emily Dipaulo all achieved sectional qualifying times in the race. The longest event of the day, the 500-yard Freestyle, had Erin Gaffney placing 3rd with Katie Hart and Helaina Hummell achieving sectional qualifying times.
In the 100-yard backstroke, seven swimmers qualified with sectional times (Kaelen Fennell, Anna Grazulis, Olivia Holodnik, Lydia Hunt, Izzy Joynt, Elizabeth Maier and Jenny Riley) and three swimmers placed: Paige Hasebe (4th), Olivia Gallagher (11th) and Nina Daniels (12th). In the end it was a very successful day for Pittsford S’Women and if history is any indication, the team will continue to deliver outstanding results under the coaching staff of Marty Keating and Beth Dobberstein. Great job!
