Over the years, it has been the depth of the Pittsford S’Women that has made them the perennial team to beat in NY state. This year has been no exception as the S’Women won the Empire Invitational Meet held at Hamilton College on Saturday, October 6th with 1341 points, charging past a very strong Ithaca team scoring 1248 points. Ithaca won all but 3 events, set numerous pool records and a NY state record, but they could not overcome the S’Women’s depth as Pittsford led in total points from start to finish of the meet.
Jenny Lewis won the 100 yard backstroke and Morgan Neal won the diving for the S’Women, but it was the combined effort of all 4 entries in every event that led to Pittsford’s success in this meet which featured many of the best high school swimmers in NY state.
