Pittsford Lady Panther Swimmers and Divers Extend Record to 4-0

 

The Pittsford Girl’s Swimming and Diving team extended their record to 4-0 with wins over Batavia and Greece (Athena/Olympia) Lightning.  Batavia traveled to Pittsford last Tuesday and found themselves over-powered by the strength of Pittsford.  The Lady Panthers dominated the first 10 events, swimming the last 2 events of the meet as exhibition. The opening event of the meet garnered the top two places for Pittsford, with the 200 medley relay teams of Susan Allen, Katie Harris, Libby Brush, and Kate Wilson placing 1st, and teammates Lindsay Wahl, Jesse Ward, Courtney Brayman, and Jenna Arington placing 2nd.  The team of Amanda Lang, Becca Hazen, Emily Wells, and Lindsay Richardson touched in 4th.

 

In the individual events, Brayman placed 2nd in the 200 free, Hazen touched in at 3rd place, and Ward earned the 4th place finish.  In the 200 IM, Hailey Weniger touched in 1st, Harris placed 2nd, and Richardson earned 4th placed points.  The sprint 50 free went to Pittsford’s Emily Wells, with Erin Bankey placing 2nd, and Lang touching in at 4th.

 

In the diving portion of the meet, Eliza Massie turned in a 1st place performance, with teammate Ashley Slaughter earning the 2nd place win.  At the conclusion of diving, Pittsford led 55 to 23.

 

The 100 fly was won by Weniger, with Allen and Harris placing 2nd and 4th respectively.  Pittsford swept the 100 free, with Stephanie House, Brush, and Lisa Prezzano earning the top three finishes.   The distance 500 free went to Wilson, with Richardson and Hazen placing 3rd and 4th.

 

The 200 free relay earned the strong Pittsford team the top two finishes, with House, Allen, Arington, Weniger placing 1st, and Prezzano, Lang, Wahl, and Richardson touching in at 2nd.  The team of Alison Kant, Hazen Dianna Newman, and Lauren Wilson touched in 4th with a strong performance.  Pittsford swept the 100 backstroke, with Brayman, Katie Wilson, and Brush earning the top three scores.  After the 100 backstroke, Pittsford lead 116 to 53, and the breaststroke and 400 free relay were swam exhibition by Pittsford.

 

Pittsford hosted the Greece (Athena/Olympia) Lightning team on Thursday, and repeated a strong performance, swimming the last three events as exhibition.  Eliza Massie dominated the diving competition, placing 1st with a score of 189.05.  Ashley Slaughter placed 2nd earning 137.10 points.  Pittsford took 1st in eight of the nine scored events.  The 200 medley relay teams of Allen, Harris, Brush, Wilson, and Wahl, Brayman, Ward, and Richardson placed 1st and 2nd, with Lang, Wells, Hazen and Bankey touching in 4th.  In the 200 free Wahl placed 1st, with Arington, touching in 2nd and Richardson touching in at 4th.  The 200 IM was won by Pittsford’s Prezzano, with Ward placing 3rd, and Lang 5th.  Brayman touched in 1st in the 50 free, with Brush placing 3rd, and Harris 4th.  In the 100 fly Bankey placed 2nd, and Hazen 3rd.  The 100 free was won by Allen, with Harris placing 3rd, and Wells 4th.  Stephanie House turned in a strong performance in the 500 free, placing 1st in a time of 5:32.99.  Wahl placed 2nd, and Ward placed 5th.  The 200 free relay of House, Allen, Weniger, and Wilson placed 1st, with Arington, Brayman, Wahl, and Prezzano at 2nd. Emily Wells, Diana Newman, Lauren Wilson, and Allison Kant touched in 5th with a strong performance. Pittsford led 96 to 38 at the conclusion of the 200 free relay, and the last three events were swam exhibition by Pittsford.

 

The Lady Panthers contest three meets this week against Irondequoit, Rush Henrietta, concluding on Saturday with a five-team invitational in New Hartford, New York.
