Lady Panther Swimmers Dominate Greece Swimmers

The Lady Panther Swimmers, after the third dual meet of the season, remain undefeated. The Pittsford Swimmers hosted the Greece I Team on Tuesday, September 25th at the Mendon Pool. The Pittsford Swimmers earned seven first place finishes out of nine in the first half of the meet, and began exhibition swims for the last 3 events of the meet, concluding with a 103-62 point victory.

The meet opened with the 200-medley relay team of Susan Allen, Katie Harris, Stephanie House, and Hailey Weniger swimming to a strong 1st place finish. Teammates Liz Forbes, Katie House, Courtney Brayman and Lindsay Richardson placed 3rd, and the team of Pam Hancock, Kim Curry, Kelly Rowe, and Alison Rouzer earned 4th place points.

The 200 freestyle was won by Greece, with Allen placing 2nd, Stephie House placing 3rd, and Brayman touching in at 4th place.Greece earned the 1st place win in the 200 IM, with Harris touching in at 2nd place, Kelly Vaughan at 3rd, and Emily Freitag earning the 4th place points. Pittsford earned the 1st place win in the 50 free as Kate Wilson swam to a strong finish with a time of 26.23 seconds. Weniger placed second, and Libby Brush touched in at 4th place. The Greece Team did not have divers to compete against, and the Lady Panther Divers each had a great showing, with Meredith Bircher placing 1st, Jesse Ambrogi-Yanson second, and Nikki Rencis 3rd place points.

The 100 fly was an event the Greece Team had no entries in, and the Lady Panthers were strong as Brayman placed 1st, Lisa Prezzano 2nd, and Monica Jaferian swam to a 3rd place finish. Pittsford won the 100 free event, as Wilson swam to 1st place, with Weniger touching in at 2nd, and Jen Hazen touching in at 4th place. The long distance 500 free event was strong for Pittsford, as Katie House placed 1st, Freitag 2nd, and Richardson placed 3rd. The 200 free yard relay earned Pittsford first and second place points, as the teams of Stephie House, Allen, Weniger, and Wilson placed 1st, and Hazen, Jaferian, Brayman and Harris placed 2nd. The team of Forbes, Brush, Rowe, and Hancock swam to 4th place.

The 100 backstroke, the 100 breaststroke, and the 400 yard relay events were exhibition for the Lady Panthers. Allen and Jaferian earned the 2nd and 3rd fastest time in the event, with Harris and House earning the 2nd and 3rd fastest time in the 100 breaststroke.The Lady Panthers swim swam against Greece II on October 2nd, and will swim against Rush-Henrietta on October 4th. The Lady Panthers are 3-0.
