Lady Panther Swimmers Victorious over Brockport

The Lady Panther swim team in their second dual meet of the season defeated Brockport 101-77 last Thursday, winning 8 out of the 11 events. Setting the tone of the meet, the 200 Medley Relay team of Susan Allen, Katie Harris, Hailey Weniger, and Stephie House swam to a first place win, with the teams of Monica Jaferian, Katie House, Courtney Brayman, and Lindsay Richardson, and Liz Forbes, Kim Curry, Kelly Rowe, and Libby Brush earning the second and third place win.

The 200 freestyle was won by Katie House with a time of 209.08 seconds, with Hazen touching in at 3rd place, and Vaughan earning the 4th place win. Weniger earned the 1st place win in the 200 I.M. with a time of 222.15 seconds, with Allen touching in at 2nd place, and Lisa Prezzano earning fourth place points

The 50 freestyle sprint earned the Panthers a 2nd place win as Stephie House touched in at 26.92 seconds, and Jaferian earned 3rd place, with Richardson touching in at 4th place.

Diving proved to be a strong event for the Panthers as Meredith Bircher placed 1st with 192.15 points, Jesse Ambrogi-Yanson placed 3rd, and Niki Rencis earned 5th place points. The 100 fly was a sweep for Pittsford, as Wilson placed 1st, in 106.84 seconds, Harris touched in at 2nd, and Brush touched in at third. The Lady Panthers remained strong going into the 100 freestyle, as Allen touched in at 1st, with a time of 58.39 seconds, followed by Stephie House and Monica Jaferian. The long distance swim of the 500 freestyle was won by Weniger with a time of 533.76 seconds, with Vaughan earning the 3rd place win, and Brayman touching in at 4th place.

The 200 free relay team of Jaferian, Allen, Weniger, and Wilson earned the 1st place win, with Prezzano, Brush, Brayman, and Hazen touching in at 3rd, and Curry, Forbes, Alison Rouzer, and Kelly Rowe touching in at 4th place.

The Lady Panthers led the meet 101 to 39 entering the backstroke, and the remaining events were swum exhibition. In the 100 yard backstroke, Forbes posted a time of 1.09 seconds, Richardson 110.78 seconds, and Hazen 113.26 seconds. The 100 breaststroke, the second exhibition event was won by Brockport, with Harris earning the fastest time of the heat, in 112.98 seconds, House posting the second fastest time 113.32 seconds, and Curry touching in with the 3rd fastest time of 120.00 seconds. The meet concluded with the 400 freestyle relay, with the team of Wilson, Brayman, Stephie House, and Hazen posting the fastest time in the heat, with Brush, Harris, Richardson, and Forbes, and Rowe, Vaughan, Rouzer, and Curry swimming strong finishes. The Lady Panthers are coached by head coach Marty Keating, and Assistant Coaches Beth Dobberstein and Marsha Carey. The Lady Panthers will travel to Johnson City September 28th-29th to compete in an Invitational against several teams in the New York State Region. The Lady Panthers are 2-0.
