The Pittsford S’Women and their fans honored the senior members of the team this week before their meet with Penfield. The brief ceremony, with speeches delivered by members of the junior class, acknowledged the hours, days, months and years that the seniors had dedicated to their sport. Tri-captains Claire Geiser, Lindsay Wahl and Jessie Ward, Mandy Ellis and Karin Lee received the appreciation of their teammates a, families and friends before getting down to business and defeating the Penfield Patriots, 108-70.  Earlier in the week, the S’Women traveled to Gates-Chili where both varsity and JV teams swam to victories.
Jenny Lewis was a double winner with victories in the 100 yard freestyle and backstroke. Sarah Dempsey was a double winner in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard butterfly. The 200 yard medley relay team of Lewis, Ward, Aly Criscuolo and Kelley Groves opened the meet with a first place finish. Teammates Wahl, Stephanie Ross, Meghan Green and Emma Miller were in second and Rachel House, Geiser, Kelly Geary and Lindsay Matthews in third.
Wahl, Jennifer Conklin and Miller swept the 200 yard freestyle. Dempsey, House and Green swam to a 1-3-4 finish in the 200 yard individual medley. Groves, Katie Dobler and Matthews also swept the 50 yard freestyle.  Morgan Neal, Katelyn Barclay and Rachel Delahunta dove to another 1-2-3 finish in the 1 meter diving. Dempsey, Conklin and Criscuolo continued the sweep streak in the 100 yard butterfly. Lewis, Groves and Geary finished 1st, 2nd and 4th in the 100 yard freestyle.  Miller, Alex Trobe and Dobler also swept the 500 yard freestyle.
In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Geary, Dobler, Conklin and Trobe finished first with other S’Women swimming exhibition. With the score 108-32, the remainder of the meet was swum as exhibition.
The JV S’Women continued their winning streak with a 100-70 victory over the Patriots. Kelsey McManus, Danielle Phillips, Katherine Ross and Grace Encherman opened the meet with a win in the 200 yard medley relay. Emily Carroll, Deniz Harland, Paige Hasebe and Katie Hart finished 2nd. Maddy Ashworth, Kaelen Fennell and Katie Valentine swept the 200 yard freestyle. McManus, Phillps and Julie Marello swam to a 1-2-5 finish in the 200 yard individual medley. Emily DiPaulo, Grace Encerhman and Erin Connolly sprinted to a 1-2-4 finish in the 50 yard freestyle. Carrie DeMoulin won the JV diving.
McManus and K. Ross finished 1-2 in the 100 yard butterfly. Maggie Craig, Hart and Vicky Lagas swept the 100 yard freestyle. Lydia Hunt, Tess Ciaccio and Heleina Hummell continued the sweep streak in the 500 yard freestyle. In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Encherman, Phillips, Craig and DiPAulo led the pack and Hart, Lagas, Mallory Ward and Connolly finished 3rd. With the score 100-35, the remainder of the meet was swum as exhibition.
On Saturday, October 21st, the S’Women travelled to Canandaigua for a meet against the undefeated Canandaigua Academy Girls’ Swimming and Diving Team. Once again, Pittsford’s depth proved to be too much for the Finger Lakes League powerhouse and the S’Women handed Canandaigua its first defeat, 197.5-117.5
The 200 yard medley relay team of Lewis, Ward, Criscuolo and Groves were touched out by less than ½ second for a 2nd place finish. Wahl, S. Ross, Green and Miller were 3rd and Olivia Tylutki, Geiser, House and Matthews were 4th. Wahl led a 4 place sweep in the 200 yard freestyle with Conklin, Miller, and Trobe behind her in 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. Dempsey, House, Green and Criscuolo outscored their opponents with a 2-3-4-5 finish in the 200 yard individual medley. Groves, Dobler, Matthews and Geary finished 2-3-4-6 in the 50 yard freestyle.
Neal won the diving with Delahunta in 5th, Biltucci in 6th and DeMoulin in 7th. In the 100 yard butterfly, Dempsey finished 2nd, Criscuolo 3rd, Conklin 4th and Geary 6th. Lewis was touched out by a finger tip in the 100 yard freestyle, finishing 2nd by 0.07 seconds. Groves, House and Matthews were 3rd, 4th and 5th, again outscoring their opponents in this event. Miller led a sweep in the 500 yard freestyle with Dobler, Green and Trobe in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Green, Matthews, Dempsey and Miller finished 2nd and Geary, Dobler, Conklin and Trobe 3rd.
Lewis won the 100 yard backstroke with Wahl, Tylutki and Lee in 2nd, 3rd and 6th places. Ward was narrowly touched out in the 100 yard breaststroke. S. Ross, Ellis and Geiser finished behind her in 3rd, 5th and 6th places. The S’Women swept the 400 yard freestyle relay with Wahl, Dempsey, Groves and Lewis touching 1st, Geary, Dobler, Conklin and Trobe 2nd and Tylutki, House, Lee and Geiser in 3rd.
The JV S’Women also left the Canandaigua pool with another victory. McManus, Phillips, K. Ross and Craig won the 200 yard medley relay. Fennell, Harland, Hasebe and Hunt finished 2nd and Carroll, M. Ward, Lagas and Hummell 3rd. Ashworth, Encherman, Hart and Valentine swept the 200 yard freestyle. McManus, Phillips and Bonita Sur finished 1-2-3 in the 200 yard individual medley. DiPaulo, Craig and Lagas sprinted to a 1-2-5 finish in the 50 yard freestyle.
K. Ross, Craig, Hasebe and Tuttle finished 1-2-3-5 in the 100 yard butterfly. DiPaulo, Hart, Emily Himes and Marello finished 1-2-4-6 in the 100 yard freestyle. Ciaccio, Hunt, Connolly and Hummell swept the 500 yard freestyle. Encherman, Craig, Ashworth and DiPaulo won the 200 yard freestyle relay. Phillips, Carroll, Connolly and Ciaccio were 2nd and Fennell, Himes, Sur and Harland were 3rd.
Ashworth led a sweep of the 100 yard backstroke with McManus, Carroll and Fennell behind her in 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. Phillips, K. Ross, M. Ward and Harland also swept the 100 yard breaststroke. In the 400 yard freestyle relay, DiPaulo, Encherman, McManus and Ashworth touched first with Hunt, Hasebe, Connolly and Hart in 2nd.
The S’Women face Brockport in their last dual meet of the season before working towards their championship meets .
