The Pittsford S’Women culminated a very busy week of swimming with a repeat victory at the Empire Invitational at Hamilton College on Saturday, October 15th, avenging a loss to a strong Ithaca team early this year at the Owego Invitational. The S’Women outscored Ithaca by 1375.5 to 1246 points. Section V rival, Fairport, finished 3rd with 1085 points. Hailey Weniger was a double winner, finishing 1st in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle with times of 1:55.15 and 5:09.07. Jenny Lewis won the 100 yard backstroke in 58.68.
Despite only 3 first place finishes, it was the depth of the S’Women’s roster that carried the team. All four entries in every event finished in the top 16 spots.
The 200 yard medley team of Lewis, Jessie Ward, Aly Criscuolo and Kelley Groves finished 2nd. The team of Lindsay Wahl, Stephanie Ross, Jennifer Conklin and Emma Miller finished 4th, Katie Dobler, Mandy Ellis, Captain Em Wells and Sarah Dempsey 8th and Olivia Tylutki, Claire Geiser, Rachel House and Amanda Lang 13th. Finishing behind Weniger in the 200 yard freestyle were Wahl in 3rd, Alex Trobe in 7th and Miller in 8th. Meghan Green finished 8th in the 200 yard individual medley. Wells touched in 9th, Lindsay Matthews in 13th and Criscuolo in 14th. Groves sprinted to a 3rd place finish in the 50 yard freestyle. Captain Jenna Arington finished 6th, Ward 10th and Dempsey 12th.
Eliza Massie dove to a 3rd place finish with teammates Morgan Neal in 8th, Hilary Dubeshter in 12th  and Rachel Delahunta in 13th.. Criscuolo swam to 6th place in the 100 yard butterfly.  Wells was in 11th, Conklin in 12th and House in 15th.  In the 100 yard freestyle, Lewis finished 3rd with Arington in 4th, Groves in 7th and Dempsey in 12th. Weniger won the 500 yard freestyle with Miller 4th, Green in 7th and Trobe in 10th.
The 200 yard freestyle relay proved to be a thrilling race with Lewis, Arington, Groves and Weniger tying a strong Ithaca team for 2nd, just behind Fairport.  Teammates Trobe, Tylutki, Ward and Criscuolo were 6th, Green, House, Dobler and Dempsey were 7th and Emily DiPaulo, Conklin, Karin Lee and Kelly Geary were 9th.
Lewis won the 100 yard backstroke with Wahl in 3rd, Tylutki in 5th and Matthews in 11th. Ward finished a strong 3rd in the 100 yard breaststroke. Ross touched in 7th, Geiser in 8th and Ellis in 9th.
Going into the final event, the 400 yard freestyle relay, the meet was still up for grabs. The team of Wahl, Arington, Green and Weniger was up to the task finishing in 2nd. Trobe, Miller, Tylutki and Wells were 6th, Geary, Lee, DiPaulo and Dobler were 8th and House, Conklin, Lang and Geiser 9th.
The Varsity S’Women began their week with a 123-52 win over Greece Arcadia/Olympia. Meghan Green was a double winner, finishing first in the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. Other winners at this meet included Jenny Lewis in the 200 yard individual medley, Lindsay Wahl in the 50 yard freestyle, Eliza Massie diving, Hailey Weniger 100 yard butterfly, Alex Trobe 100 yard freestyle and Aly Cricuolo 500 yard freestyle.
The JV S’Women won 134-49. Winners of individual events were Jennifer Conkin in the 200 yard freestyle, Sarah Dempsey 200 yard individual medley, Katie Yan 50 yard freestyle, Katherine Ross 100 yard butterfly, Lindsay Matthews 100 yard freestyle, Karin Lee 500 yard freestyle, Katie Dobler 100 yard backstroke and Sophia Salvia 100 yard breaststroke.
The S’Women then traveled to Churchville-Chili where the Varsity won 97-80 and the JV won 99-76. Highlights of the meet included breaking 3 pool records: the 200 yard medley relay team of Lindsay Wahl, Jessie Ward, Aly Criscuolo and Kelley Groves the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Jenny Lewis, Jenna Arington, Kelley Groves and Hailey Weniger and the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Wahl, Arington, Lewis and Weniger. Sarah Dempsey broke a Pittsford JV record in the 200 yard individual medley.
The S’Women continue their dual meet season with meets against Gates-Chili and Penfield as they begin to look toward the Section V championships in November.
