The Monroe County Coaches’ Invitational Swim Meet is the culmination of the Junior Varsity season. This year it was held on October 29th at Merton Williams Middle School in Hilton. The format of the meet is unique in that if you swim too fast in an individual event, you cannot win. If an individual achieves a sectional qualifying time in an event they are disqualified.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Katie Dobler, Mandy Ellis, Jennifer Conklin and Sarah Dempsey started things off with a win. In the 200 yard freestyle, Jordan Snyder won the Senior division. Dobler, Conklin, Brittany O’Conner and Grace Encherman all made sectional qualifying times. Karin Lee, Kelsey McManus and Ellis did the same in the 200 yard individual medley. In the 50 yard freestyle, Katie Yan finished 3rd, Madeline Ashworth 5th, Katie Hart 8th, Sophia Salvia 9th, Bonita Sur 12th, Theresa Catteau 13th, Jackie Burke 17th and  Katie Burch 20th . Emily DiPaulo, Maggie Craig and Elise Morris met sectional times. Also swimming for the S’Women were Julie Marello, Catherine Tuttle, Vicky Lagas, Sarah Craig and Rosie Entress.
Ellis finished 2nd in the 100 yard butterfly. Tuttle was 11th. Dempsey, Kelly Geary, McManus, Katherine Ross and Morris sped to sectional cut times. Deniz Harland finished 4th in the 100 yard freestyle. Hart was 7th, Catteau 12th and Burch 16th. Lagas, Marello and Entress. Lee, DiPaulo, Encherman, O’Conner and M Craig bettered the sectional qualifying time. Geary, Dobler and Conklin beat the sectional time in the 500 yard freestyle.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Geary, Conklin, Lee and Dempsey beat the field. The team of M Craig, McManus, Salvia and Ashworth won their heat. Ashworth and Yan did the same in the 100 yard backstroke. Harland won the 100 yard breaststroke, with Burke in 5th and S Craig in 13th. Ross, Dempsey, Salvia and Sur touched in less than sectional time.
Both S’Women 400 yard freestyle relay teams – Lee, Dobler, Geary and DiPaulo and Burke, Harland, Hart and Catteau won their heats.
