Pittsford Swimming and Diving Team Claim League Championship

Lady Panthers Enter Sectionals Undefeated

 

The Pittsford Swimming and Diving Team concluded the dual meet season undefeated, claiming the Monroe County League I championship crown.  Pittsford earned their 13th win of the season by defeating Penfield. 103to75. The 200 medley-relay team of Susan Allen, Katie Harris, Libby Brush, and Kate Wilson placed first, with Lindsay Wahl, Jesse Ward, Courtney Brayman, and Jenna Arington placing 2nd.  The 200 free went to Hailey Weniger, with Wahl placing 2nd, and Lisa Prezzano 4th. The Lady Panthers, with Brush, Allen, and Brayman placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd swept the 200 IM.  The 50 freestyle earned Pittford the top three finishes, with Wilson, Stephie House, and Arington touching in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  Eliza Massie and Ashley Slaughter earned 1st and 3rd  place diving finishes for the team.

 

In the long distance event, Weniger placed 1st, with Prezzano and Erin Bankey touching in at 4th and 5th.  The 200 freestlye relay earned Pittsford the top two finishes, with the team of House, Allen, Weniger, and Wilson touching in at 1st, and Wahl, Arington, Prezzano, and Lindsay Richardson placing 2nd.  The Pittsford swimmers completed the meet swimming exhibition. Amanda Lang, Allison Kant, Emily Wells, Diana Newman, Rebecca Hazen, and Lauren Wilson all posted strong swims. The Lady Panthers enter the sectional meet on November 6th undefeated, and will complete the season November 8th at the section V finals.

 

The Pittsford Junior Varsity S’Women completed the dual meet season undefeated, with a 12-0 record. Recording first place finishes were Kelly Beamish in the 200 yard freestyle, Jenny Lewis in the 50 yard freestyle, Aly Criscuolo in the 100 yard butterfly, Kathryn Harper in the 100 yard freestyle, Kelly Geary in the 500 yard freestyle and Olivia Tylukti in the 100 yard backstroke. Mandy Ellis touched first in the 100 yard breaststroke, but, with a team victory clinched, she swam exhibition.

 

Second place finishes went to Geary in the 200 yard freestyle, Claire Geiser in the 200 yard individual medley, Isha Saini in the 50 yard freestyle, Allie Pink in the 100 yard freestyle, Hannah Begeleisen in the 500 yard freestyle and Kylie Brandt in the 100 yard backstroke.

 

Third place went to Lindsay Matthews in the 200 yard IM, Jacky Davis in the 50 yard freestyle, Elise Morris in the 100 yard butterfly, and Karin Lee in the 500 yard freestyle. Kelly McMahon, swimming exhibition, touched third in the 100 yard breaststroke.

 

Finishing in 4th place was Lee in the 200 yard freestyle and Alexa Ashworth in the 200 yard IM. Fifth place finishers were Tylukti in the 100 yard butterfly and Sophia Salvia in the 100 yard freestyle. Swimming exhibition in the 100 yard breaststroke, Jordan Snyder finished in 4th.

Lewis, Geiser, Criscuolo and Harper combined in the 200 yard medley relay to win. Brandt, McMahon, Morris and Davis finished 3rd with Tylukti, Ellis, Begeleisen and Samantha Robbins close behind them.

 

In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Lewis, Davis, Crisuolo and Harper were also victorious with Pink, Elise Nye, Kelly Morgenfeld and Beamish in 3rd. The team of Molly Rutledge, Priya Sonty, Caitlin O’Leary and Bonita Sur also had a strong showing.

 

The 400 yard freestyle relay was swum as exhibition, but the teams of Lee, Tylukti, Geary and Brandt, Begeleisen, Ashworth, Matthews and Saini, and Chelsea McNamara, Salvia, Sonty and Nye made very strong showings.
