Pittsford Junior Varsity Swimmers Continue Winning Ways

 

The Pittsford Junior Varsity S’women extended their record to 11-0 with victories over Gates-Chili and Section VI champion, Lockport.

 

The JV swimmers defeated Gates-Chili 101-40. The 200 yard medley relay team of Jenny Lewis, Claire Geiser, Aly Criscuolo and Jacky Davis opened the meet with a first place finish.  Kylie Brandt, Kelly McMahon, Brittany O’Connor and Olivia Tylukti finished second with Hannah Bigeleisien, Mandy Ellis, Elise Morris and Elyse Nye right behind them.  The Pittsford S’women proceeded to sweep the top three places in five of the six individual events that they swam.  Kathryn Harper, Karin Lee and Alexa Ashworth in the 200 yd freestyle.  Chelsea McNamara, Lindsay Matthews and Isha Saini in the 200 yd individual medley.  Lewis, Davis and Molly Rutledge in the 50 yd freestyle.  Criscuolo, Kelly Geary and Kyle Brandt in the 100 yd butterfly and O’Connor, Bigeleisen and Sophia Salvia in the 500 yd freestyle.  Tylukti, Kelly Beamish and Caitlin O’Leary finished 1-2-4 in the 100 yard freestyle.

 

Harper, Geary, Allie Pink and Kelly Beamish won the 200 yd freestyle relay.  Lee, McNamara, McMahon and Kelly Morgenfeld were in second, and Nye, Samantha Robbins, Morris and Priya Sonty were right behind them.

 

Brandt, Pink and Geiser swam the 100 yd backstroke as exhibition.  Ellis, Jordan Snyder and Bonita Sur did the same in the 100 yd breaststroke.

 

Jenny Lewis set a new JV 100 yd freestyle record with a time of 58.03 seconds combining with Harper, Davis and Criscuolo to also set a new record in the 400 yd freestyle relay.  The teams of Ashworth, Salvia, Snyder and Matthews and Sonty, Nye, Robbins and Rutledge also put in strong performances.  The Junior Varsity swimmers gear up for their Monroe County Coaches Invitational to be held at the Webster Aquatics Facility this Saturday, October 25th.
