Pittsford Swimmers Awarded 2003 All- American Honors

The National Interscholastic Coaches Association has awarded Pittsford Swimmers, Susan Allen, Erin Bankey, Libby Brush, Katie Harris, and Kate Wilson, along with Stephanie House and Hailey Weniger All-American swimming honors for the 2003 high school season.  Each year swim teams throughout the country submit their best times for swimming events.  At the conclusion of the high school season which is May for some of the states, NISCA reviews the submitted times, and the All-American honor is bestowed on the top 100 relays.  This represents the top 1% in the country.

Allen, Brush, Harris and Wilson earned All-American Honors in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.37.  The medley relay team placed 79th in the country.   House, Weniger, Allen and Wilson earned All-American honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The 200 yard relay team placed 43rd in the country. Senior Erin Bankey earned Academic All-American Honors for the 2003 season.

Swimmers Allen, Harris, and Wilson began their high school swimming career as 7th graders, and concluded their varsity season as state champions.  Allen will continue her swimming career at the University of Massachusetts, signing a national letter of intent in April.  Wilson signed a national letter of intent to swim for Louisville in Kentucky.  Harris will continue swimming for Allegheny College, a Division III team, and received a Presidential Scholarship.

Pittsford’s Coach Keating has produced over 43 high school All-Americans during his 30-year career.
