2002 SECTION V

GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING

QUALIFYING STANDARDS

Below are the qualifying standards for women's swimming this year.  The "Class A " times are the minimum times required to qualify for the Section V championships, though not all swimmers who meet the minimum times are guaranteed to swim.  The "State" times are the minimum times needed to qualify for the state meet.  The first place winner in each event at the Section V championships is guaranteed entry in the state championships if they make the State Time.  The "Magic Time" comes into play for the second and lower placers at the Section V championships -- if they make the Magic Time they get a trip to states - maybe.  It is complicated, but the Coaches will explain it all if/when a swimmer reaches that point!
